Kellee McCrory, MPH, MSW and Anne Abbott, MPP presented at the 2015 Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE) Annual Conference in Boston, MA. This was the second year that the pair presented at the conference.
McCrory led a roundtable discussion entitled, “Using Diabetes Self-Management Education Data for Evaluation” which focused on potential data collection issues when collaborating with diabetes programs which result from the wide variety of program models and administration entities. She also discussed methods of data collections that ensure evaluation and program data are reliable and valid. Abbott led the breakout session “Using Cervical Cancer Screening Data to Improve Hispanic and Latino Outreach Strategies”. In her session she presented preliminary findings from a project which aimed to determine the most effective outreach strategies to increase Latino cervical cancer screening rates. She also discussed barriers and facilitators to success as identified in the project year-end reports. Abbott also presented the poster “Development of a Partnership to Implement and Evaluate a Survey of Pharmacy Practice,” a project examining clinical-community linkages between Iowa hospitals and pharmacies.
